Performance Psychotherapy
What is Performance Psychotherapy? Performance psychotherapy focuses on mental wellness for performers, musicians, athletes, and creative professionals. As a former gymnast who got into running marathons as an adult, as well as a professional singer, I've had to learn how to perform well, and even enjoy it, under highly stressful situations. Admittedly, I pull here, not only from my psychotherapy training, but from also the many wonderful coaches and mentors who have taught me the tools they used to navigate performance challenges. And from those who helped me heal the trauma of not-so-supportive coaches and peers, to get up and perform again.
This work may focus on:
-
Performance anxiety,
-
Burnout and perfectionism
-
Self-doubt or harsh self-criticism
-
The internal saboteur that causes "choking"
-
Performance Trauma
-
Consultation for athletes and performers.

The best performances require you to bring all of yourself to the table. As a singer or actor, you bring not just your talents and skills, but your emotions and vulnerability. As an athlete, you bring all of the expectations you have of yourself (or that others have of you), That brings with it a host of challenges as numerous as there are individuals.
Together we will work through unearthing what might be keeping you stuck, tripping you up, wearing you down, or just making it harder than it needs to be to do the things you have dedicated yourself to doing well.
