Sue Brekka, M.A., MFT #45546 - Clinical Psychotherapy and Divorce/Child Custody Mediation
Welcome

Thank you for visiting SueBrekkaMFT.com.  The purpose of this site is to give you more information about my therapy practice, my theoretical orientation (ie., how I work), and what you can expect from psychotherapy in my practice.  I work from an Object Relations Approach, which takes into consideration how your early life experiences with significant people (parents, caregivers) may be continuing to impact your current life and relationships.  I specialize in helping people figure out what has brought them to where they are in their lives, and how to take what they've learned in therapy and put it into practice in their daily lives.  No problem is too trivial, "normal", or extraordinary to be undertaken.  Psychotherapy is not for the faint of heart.  Nor is it "just for sick people."  It is a courageous endeavor that requires committment and inner strength, to really look at where you came from, and to make a conscious shift in your thinking and behavior to help move your life into a better future.

As a certified Mediator, I provide Divorce and Child Custody Mediation Services.  Bringing my knowledge and experience in child development and psychological care, my goal is to help families provide a stable environment for their children, during unstable times.  I will work with you to create a functioning, healthy new environment for your children to thrive and grow into healthy adults, mitigating the typical stresses of divorce.
